Milarepa's Advice to the Demoness

"Do we consider we have been happy now? You confused,
wretched hag!
If we have not found happiness, it is your
own fault.
Beware! Your clinging-to-Ego is greater
than yourself;

Pay heed! Your emotions have been stronger
than yourself.
Oh, specter, your vicious will is far
wickeder than yourself;
Your unreasoning suspicion is some-more characteristic
than yourself;
Your ceaseless mental wake up is more
frantic than yourself!

To say a existence of a ghost,
Only brings about mischief;
To assimilate a non-existence of a ghost
is a approach of Buddha;
To know which spook as well as Reality have been one
Is a approach to Liberation.
Knowing which a ghosts have been all one's parents
Is a right understanding;
Realizing which a spook itself is Self-mind
Is glory supreme.

You will be emancipated from all fetters
If we comprehend a law which I have stated;
This is my instruction to you, demoness!

To become my disciple we must observe the
precepts.
Violate not a manners of Vajrayana,
Debase not a great Compassion,
Afflict not a body, word, as well as thoughts of Buddhists.
If we ever violate these rules,
You can be positive of plummeting to
the Vajra Hell!
Recite these important manners three times;
Remember their meaning as well as practice them."
